Color affection: done!

I have been talking about this shawl for such a long time, but knitting it has taken more time than I thought it would. It's the Color Affection, an amazing project by the super-talented Veera Välimäki.
It's been my longest project so far - and one of the few finished ones actually - and it's been some kind of zen experience for me.
It has taught me patience. And also how to block a finished piece.
So...here it is while blocking

I improvised the blocking with what I had at home
It's a bit smaller than I thought by looking at other people's pics. And I followed the pattern and got this weird shape, which I absolutely adore and makes it even better to wear

I am so proud ^_^ and will definitely make another one...sooner or later.

Baby knitting

Looks like baby knitting is the best when you are a person who gets bored with a project halfway

(Had I already posted this? Well, it's still like this).
Baby knits are so much better, at least when they are newborns. In a couple of days you get to finish a sweater. Amazing.
So here's what I have done by now

a neon green hat in Merino wool, here you'll find the Ravelry link, and a little "grown up" cardigan

here the pattern, still needs to be blocked and I also need to find the right buttons.
I already have another cardigan on my needles and then a sleeping bag/cocoon with matching hat.
My Color Affection shawl is almost done...I'll bring it with me on the train tomorrow.
Yep! Going home finally! So I'll be furiously knitting for 12 hours...if I don't pass out before.

Last minute knitting

As usual in this part of the year I realize spring is coming and I don't have much time to finish my knitting with wool. So I pick up 3, 4 projects at the same time trying to use up my stash.

Of course I never finish any.
This time I decided to try and make an amazing shawl, Color Affection by Veera Välimäki

My version is grey and mustard and features a mix of cotton and wool.

Even though we had 3 summer days, with crazy high temperatures, rain came back and cooled down any desire for tank tops and shorts. Back to padded jackets. So I might have a chance to actually wear this work of art before the real summer comes.

Ceramic and wire

I won my fear of wire and used it to finally make my necklace with the beads I had bought from Gaea.

I was so afraid to ruin them, but this was the only way I really, really love them to become a necklace.
This wire is so soft and easy to work with, but also easy to get broken. Didn't really know how to handle it.
I'm such a newbie for these kind of things!
I can't wait to wear it on Easter, I'll match it with a white, fluffy bolero by Ysolda Teague

which is waiting for me to give it some sleeves...
