More neon

A new bangle I just made mixing tubular peyote technique and simple stringing

I used both seed beads and big farfalle beads from the new Preciosa Ornela neon collection.
Don't you just love the decreasing effect from the thicker beaded rope to rhe size 11/0 beads?! I do.

I also had the smaller size of the farfalle beads, which I used to make these

They are thicker than usual and I love how the farfalle beads stick out from both sides.
Will make more experiments!

EBW Spring Swap 2013

This year I partecipated again in the Spring Swap organized by the Etsy Beadweavers Team.
The person I made a little gift for was different from the one I received it from, so you interact with 2 people from the team. You never know when the package is going to arrive because you don't know when it's sent, so it's a big surprise!
This time I made a bracelet for Andrea Ortiz of Blue Star Arts.

   

I read from the questionnaire we all had to fill in that she practises yoga and likes blue and green.
So I wanted to make something with an Om. I was inspired by my Japanese tradition bracelet and was thinking of following the same pattern, but just one strand of beaded beads. That didn't look nice though.
I started making these tubular thingies not knowing exactly how to use them. I was inspired by Csilla Csirmaz bracelet but didn't want anything that crowded.
I decided knotting with waxed thread was the solution; of course my size 15 seed beads didn't think so. It was impossible to make it through the CRAW tube of the Om piece.

Final option was metal. You know how much I'm clamsy with it. I had some silver chain which made me think about the final solution....

Much better than waxed thread.
I used a magnetic toggle so it's more practical and easy to remove when she goes to her yoga lessons!

On to my benefactor who is Cajsa Lisa Anderson of ajBead.
She made a gorgeous pendant inspired by her father's japanese garden (I knotted a simple grey cord to wear it)

She visited it this winter and decided to capture that moment when snow covers everything, but still you know flowers will come back very soon. You can see the inspiration here.
I was really touched by her story and look at how amazing her father's pieces of art are!
I love both the pendant and the source of inspiration. Looks like destiny that I wrote I'm crazy about Japan and her father had this special hobby. Thank you so much for sharing this with me!

New donut necklace

I made another donut pendant yesterday night, while watching Grey's Anatomy:

I plan to make more of them - I can't ever rest my hands while watching a movie.
I am also experimenting with can tabs...I'll show you later.

New Paika

Had a request for some purple and fuchsia Paika (by Mu Centperles), so here they are, although the purple beads look like brown with this light

They are so gorgeous and will be perfect with my customer's blonde hair!

Going on with Christmas orders, I need to make 5 different kind of red earrings. Not too big, one pair will be my red Bollywood confetti for sure, the other four...still searching for the right tutorial.
I'm also making experiments with twin beads, so stay tuned for more Christmas gifts ideas!

My earrings on Vogue Accessory...twice!

Fuchsia & grey

After mixing grey with yellow, I couldn't resist using some grey rondelles with these gorgeous acrylic beads sent by Lori

so I made another bracelet

and it won't be my last...

Fuchsia

I love fuchsia. It's bright, cheerful and feminine. Or maybe girly..that's why I love it. When I wear something fuchsia I feel happy.
Unfortunately this colour seems odd matched with my red hair, so I only wear it when i go back to brown.
Some time ago I made this embroidery cuff



It was my first attempt with bead embroidery.
Now I've just finished this necklace



It's a netted base with the same technique of the famous "Capricho" cuff



Using round transparent beads instead of Svarovski doesn't make it less shiny at all



I wasn't able to take a proper picture this morning, the light was a bit strange so it seems purple rather than fuchsia...will try tomorrow.
It was pretty funny to make so I think I will try it in more colours!
